His wife said, "You look angry."

"I wasn't angry — I was looking in the mirror. I guess that's how intense I get when I'm painting."

Alert Bald Eagle: The Air, The Forest, The Watch

The title of this image could easily be "America on guard." An alert and watchful Bald Eagle perches high above a misted forest in the mountains -- the tension inthe bird captures the viewer's attention and then you notice the perspective and the distance in the view downward. This was a large numbered edition.

Powerful and Gentle Endangered Mountain Gorilla

In this powerful image, an endangered mountain gorilla looks out of the gloom directly at the viewer. This is a large, dramatic print that feels like it puts the viewer into direct contact with this magnificent andgentle creature. Orginally drawn on mylar, the artist says his first challenge was that he had to draw the gorilla's expression in reverse for the printing process. The second challenge "was to decide how much of the gorilla to show to convey its magnificence. I wanted the gorilla's human traits, coupled with its power, to come through in print. For that reason, I concentrated on the head, and, in particular, the eyes." To evoke a sense of mystery and drama, he chose a black background so the viewer could truly see the gorilla without being threatened by the image. Unframed. Issued at $400. Retail Value: $552
